Description
The Double Nature of Ibiza It’s hard to not fall in love with Ibiza, especially if you’re young and looking for adventure. However, it will be just as good of a choice if you’re simply after some beautiful landscapes and golden beaches. It’s located on the South-West of the Balearic Archipelago and together with Formentera forms its part called Pitusias. You won’t find a better place for charter rental since the season starts in April and ends in October, with the average temperatures from May to October exceeding 20 degrees. Also, you can count on over 300 sunny days each year! Look past the nightlife (even if it’s hard...) While we tend to associate Ibiza with modern activities - mainly with clubbing – it’s an island with great history. Its name was originally Ibossim, as it was dedicated to the Egyptian god of music and dance. It was found by Phoenician settlers in 654 BC. You can trace the history of Ibiza with it’s landmarks – a charming old city, Museo de Puig des Molins and many others. Not to mention the island’s nature. Large parts of Ibiza have been registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are plenty of interesting monuments like „God’s Finger” in the Benirras Bay or „The Egg” erected in the honour of Christopher Columbus. Lose yourself in the music And then there’s Ibiza’s music scene. Sure enough, the island is mainly known for the clubbing. Famous clubs include Privilege, Amnesia, Space, Pacha and DC10. Some of the most famous DJs from around the world host their parties there during the summer. Of course, the most common genres are house and trance but fans of all kinds of electronic music will find something for themselves. Clubbing culture of Ibiza has been mentioned in countless songs and movies, for example LCD Soundsystem’s „Losing My Edge” or Jennifer Lopez’s „On the Floor”. Whether you’re a party-goer or not, seeing for yourself what it looks like is certainly an unforgettable experience. For those who prefer different kind of fun... Actually, even if you’re more into rock, you won’t be disappointed. Ibiza Rocks Hotel takes good care of anyone who prefers guitars to electronic beats. Bands like Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs have played there in recent years. And if you feel like chilling out, go to Cafe del Mar (you’ve certainly heard the name as it inspired the series of album compilations). If you happen to reach Ibiza’s shore, you should also try delicious Mediterrean cuisine. Go for seafood or pork and don’t forget about a dessert as the island is famous for local sweets (especially those called flaons). Do keep in mind that Balearic Islands are one of the favourite destinations of all yacht charter enthusiasts. It’s no wonder. Azure water, incredible beaches, diverse traditions and perfect weather... what more you could ask for? Not to even start about people who are among the most hospitable in the world. Rent a yacht and start one of the best adventures of your life. That is, if you aren’t afraid that you’ll never want to come back... Hint: If you’d like to find cheaper deals on yacht rentals and you don’t mind cooler weather, you can plan your holiday for one of the cooler months, having in mind that there are more than 300 sunny days on Balearic Islands. Remember though – Northern side is more exposed to weather fronts. Thankfully, Ibiza and Formentera, together with ports of Soller, Puerto Portals, Can Pastilla, Arenal sand southern bay of Palma de Mallorca, are pretty much protected from those. |
