An Exemplary Ten Day Cruising Itinerary Around The Balearic Islands

Mallorca – Dragonera – Ibiza – Formentera – Mallorca

Day 1

Charter a yacht in spectacular Palma de Mallorca. Go provision shopping at one of the local markets and set off east to Port Andratx, which will be your anchorage for the night. You will be sailing along beautiful coastline and about a half way through, you will be passing scenic Cala Portals Vells. Stop for dinner at one of the lovely beachfront restaurants that can be found there. You will reach Port Andratx in the evening.

Day 2

Port Andratx is considered to be one of the most charming in Mallorca. It is surrounded by scenic landscape, dominated by hills with luxury residences located on top of them. It is full of fancy shops, restaurants and cafes. You can also visit the picturesque town of Andratx situated a few kilometers inland. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach and swimming in the pristine Mediterranean waters.

Day 3

Have a breakfast in one of the lovely seashore restaurants in Andratx , then sail off and reach lovely island of Dragonera before noon. The major part of Dragonera is turned into a wonderful Natural Park. Go there for a great hiking experience in surroundings of breathtaking nature. Anchor for the night in Sant Elm, a lovely town with mountainous landscapes and beautiful beaches.

Day 4

Set off early to reach the famous Ibiza by the evening. Anchor at beautiful harbor in Portintax. Spend the rest of the time, enjoying drinks at a beachfront restaurant.

Day 5

Explore the wonderful island of Ibiza. Although it is known mostly of its vibrant nightlife and laid-back atmosphere, the island offers you spectacular landscapes and scenic beaches. You cannot omit the picturesque village of Eivissa, which Old Town, Dalt Vila, is listed by UNESCO. Anchor for the night in the hilly surroundings of Atlantis Harbor. Spend the evening partying on the beach with a spectacular view at the nearby island called Es Vedra.

Day 6

Set off just after breakfast and sail north to the charming island of Formentera. Formentera is much smaller and less crowded than Mallorca or Ibiza yet equally charming. Formentera is mostly known for its magnificent long beaches and turquoise Mediterranean waters that surround it. We especially recommend you Playa de Illetas, which can also be your first anchorage on this wonderful island. Then, sail to Cala Salina and spend the evening at one of the charming beach restaurants or bars.

Day 7

Start your day with travelling a bit inland and visiting the scenic village of Sant Francesc. In Sant Francesc, you will find many historic buildings hidden in the maze of charming narrow streets. as well as daily market, where wonderful hand-crafted goods, such as jewelry and pottery are sold.

Day 8

Set off very early as there is a long sailing ahead of you. Your direction will be south-east. Get back to Cala Portals Vells on Mallorca.

Day 9

Devote an entire day on sightseeing in Palma – it is definitely worth it. Get there early and eat breakfast in one of the charming cafes that can be found in every corner of this wonderful city. Then, visit the spectacular historic buildings that Mallorca is known for: Cathedral de Mallorca, Bellver Castle and la Almudaina Palace. The last one offers some fine pieces for art-lovers as well as lovely garden in which you can have a short break. We also recommend you visit the Fundacion Pilar y Joan Miró, which is located in a house where the artist used to live. Spend the last evening of your charter adventure on Playa del Arenal, where you can enjoy a drink and watch the sunset.

Day 10

You can spend the entire morning sunbathing on another wonderful beach, Playa de Palma, and swimming in Mediterranean. Remember to return your chartered yacht by noon.
