Description
Greece, region Athens – the perfect visibility of sunrise and sunset Athens, the Greek capital city is globally famous because of its splendid tourist attractions, making visits here superb experience. There are many things to do in Athens, however more and more popular is becoming to sail around nearby waters. Sailing is the best idea for one wishing to visit at least a few of tiny islands located around these waters. Islands are so beautiful that it is definitely worth to see them. Some of them are inhabited, some of them are not, but all of them deserve credit for delightful landscapes, golden beaches, rocky coastline or – refers to inhabited group – charming buildings totally characteristic for Greece and its style. The best place when one can rent a yacht is closely-located harbour of Piraeus. It is not only one of the biggest harbours in Greece but also in the entire East Mediterranean region. Starting a sailing trip from here is a very good idea. There are so many possible routes to select. One of them goes from Piraeus to the strait of Salamis, where one of the most known battles during ancient times took place. This battle, in which Greeks defeated Persians, is still alive in a common memory of inhabitants of these terrains. Obviously for a sailor the greater attraction would be to enjoy adjoining landscapes, with the main role of superbly visible rocky coastline, just as said above. Second fantastic route goes from Piraeus to the island of Aegina. This island, one of the biggest in the region, is characterised by magical views, especially during sunrise and sunset. These two moments can be admire easily from the board of the yacht, of course provided that it is positioned accurately, not to be obscured by local rocks and mountains. Perfect visibility of sunrise and sunset can be marvelled also on the Cape of Sounion, located southeast of Athens. To get there by a yacht, the sailor needs to pass brilliantly gorgeous island of Patroklos, called after one of the most known hero from ancient Greek myths. The island, consisting fully of breathtaking views, should make everyone willing to stop there at least for a moment. But the goal of moving this route is to reach the Sounion. When the goal is achieved, nothing can compare to the loveliness of sunrise seen from the top of the Cape. One of the most popular sailing trips in the region is as follow: start from Piraeus early morning, reach the Cape of Sounion before the Sun goes down, spend a night in one of the local hotels and get back to Athens next morning, of course not missing magnificent sunrise, observed from the Sounion. Such a trip should be remembered forever. Renting a yacht, especially more luxurious unit, is a quite an expensive adventure in Athens, however it is definitely worth its price. The more that calmness of waters and sunny weather are guaranteed during summer months. And if someone likes to swim or dive, there is nothing simpler: everyone can attempt such enjoyment from the board of the yacht. Unforgettable moments are also guaranteed. |
